John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado who specialized in folk music, inspired millions of people. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Germandorf from Roswell located in the state of New Mexico,, was in Love with Colorado. He moved to Aspen. Denver's state anthems inspired people to travel to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame said it was because John Denver is the only musician to truly embody Colorado. Denver was a member of the Hall of Fame as its the first member in 2011. Today, he is the international face of Colorado. On my trips I've had the pleasure of meeting people from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell that you're from Colorado the first words they'll say is Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads is Denver's only Top 10 Hit as a solo artist after having worked in small Folk Music Groups. The song was written in collaboration with Bill Danoff. Danoff used Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the track, however Denver discovered that it was destined to turn into a hit once it was discovered that an earlier version.
